We continue to hear alot about the potential disruption caused by date sensitive embedded chips in, say, traffic lights or gasoline pumps. But can anyone give documented examples -- through actual testing -- where electrical equipment failed to operate properly because of a faulty date sensitive chip?

Also, you can find information on http://www.techweb.com and search on "embedded systems year 2000" and after getting in, go to bottom of the first page and just click on the AltaVista search or similar wording and it keeps the search words and really kicks out a number of articles on year 2000 embedded articles (a lot) very quickly.
