is there any software available to rename jpg files from camera to pc without having to save each one.example jpg.pic.3 = 20040 in pc please help i'm 40 to 50 pic per day and having to rename each one through power point

Debabelizer on the Mac can do this, but it's a bit pricey for the full version, don't know if the "lite" version will do it or not. Think they have a PC version, not certain though. (Equilibrium Systems is the mfr.)

On the PC, JASC has a product called Image Robot made to work with Paint Shop Pro. All I know about it is its name, and that it is supposed to automate things, don't know if it will handle the renaming you're looking for.

Anyone with direct experience with these out there?

I'm not sure if this what you're looking for, but there is an greate application called Picture Information Extractor (PIE) that renames the files according to information embedded in the picture. Just browse to http://www.snafu.de/~hoju/pie.htm
