The replica of the Titanic, built in Mexico for the movie, may wind up at the American Adventure World theme park in Ilkeston, England, along with a 775-foot set, including the Titanic's ballroom and dining room, the London Sunday Telegraph reported. The newspaper said that the theme park is negotiating directly with director James Cameron to purchase the movie sets. It quoted Chas Bishop, marketing director for the park, as saying that the two sides "are still fleshing out the deal." Bishop declined to discuss price, but commented, "It would reverse the trend of wealthy Americans buying up parts of England's heritage. It would be fitting for, in one sense, the Titanic to return home." The original ship was built in Scotland.

Yep, built in Ireland, registered in England and owned by an American company. You hardly know who to point the finger at :) but I think the folks at H&W might take offense to being relocated to Scotland!

The Titanic "official movie tour" is going to be in Europe for the next two years or so. It's in London through February and in Paris in April-May. From the little I've seen, it includes full-scale sets from the movie, including the dining room where people can actually have a meal. Part of the tour involves being in a lifeboat on water and there is a place where you can have your picture taken doing the "I'm flying" scene. I have the information on the tour in London if anyone is interested. If anyone has the details on the Paris exhibit I would appreciate having that.
