Lollipop

Conure by birth, almost human in nature a spirit so strong and prevailing I call it a she.

Displaying great vanity, she bathes herself splashing all within reach until the ritual of priming ends with the taming of her brilliant feathers in confusing but marvelous disorder. Egocentric she is also eccentric loyal to only a few and even those singled out in affection suffer calamitous wounds if such preferred victim does not acquiesce to being a slave to her whims.

When enough is enough and she is back in her cage condemned to exile it never lasts too long because her loud squawks force the victim's surrender and once again she finds a perch on a comfortable shoulder while searching for lips eager to kiss.

Tiring of kisses she wiggles downwards until she rests in a bosomy nest peeking only to show the insolence of one self-possessed!
