Any proof of testing?

Has any utility co. performed a computer simulation that can be verified? There's a lot of talk going on but no proof!

You might try contacting Sothern Company@ http://www.southernco.com/site/

They were supposedly preparing for a shutdown for testing.

Southern Co. isn't shutting down to do Y2k testing - it's just worked into their scheduled outage plans.

There's been a lot of talk about simulation, but I'm not sure what value there'd be in simulation, as simulators don't take direct input from process control. Process control parameters (and system responses) are simulated by the simulation computer.

A better (or more probabilistic risk assessment based) way of doing this is using models (or subsets thereof) such as EIA/DOE has done. You might want to take a look at www.eia.doe.gov - there's a lot of interesting data there, including some extensive (and interconnected) model descriptions.
