Leo All Over MTV Movie Awards

What about Nicholson? And where the hell is Ulee's Gold?

No, the boys and girls who avidly watch music television have, in general, a different taste in flicks from the Academy of Motion Picture Sciences. And the MTV Movie Awards, presented May 30 (and broadcast June 4), are not the Oscars.

But that works out good for Leonardo DiCaprio. Neither nominated nor present at the Shrine Auditorium last month when Titanic was "king of the world" (the film won a record-tying 11 Oscars), DiCaprio earned three MTV noms in all, including the coveted Best Male Performance, and along with costar Kate Winslet, the Best Onscreen Duo and Best Kiss.

While the rest of the big movie award shows tend to mirror one other, the viewer-voted MTV prizes--which have garnered some of the music net's largest ratings in recent years--have their own flava: Only there will you find Face/Off, Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery and Men in Black nominated for Best Movie; Samuel L. Jackson (also the show's host) and Vivica Fox up for best acting prizes.

Of course, no matter what age your voters are, Titanic rules--it led all other films in nominations. In addition to Best Movie, the ship flick's eight noms include Best Female Performance (Winslet), Best Villain (Billy Zane) and Best Action Sequence (when the boat goes under).
