I have seen Titanic three times so far and have to say I am so moved by Victor Garber. He really got into part. Has anyone noticed how his eyes looked when he told Rose about the ship sinking?? I was in tears!! He really is a very good actor and I am glad James Cameron chose him to play the part of Thomas Andrews. I have to say that I have a bit of a crush on him now. Please anyone else who had noticed his eyes. Tell me!!

I totally know what you mean! His eyes are so sweet, sad, and honest that I could just cry to. It looked like he really meant it when he told Rose that he was sorry he didn't build her a stronger ship. I've seen the Titanic 8 times and I think that it is one of saddest parts in the movie. Victor Garber is a wonderful and talented actor. I'm surprised that I haven't seen him in much else. You know what? I'm only 14, but for a middle aged guy he is really cute, not hot, but cute. I just love him! None of my other friends seem to see it!

I loved him too, and thought he was wonderful. I was watching a repeat of Godspell the other day and who did I see sporting a huge afro and playing (I think) Jesus! Victor Garber...no less and he had me in stitches!

I agree. I think he did an excellent job portraying Thomas Andrews. The scene that touched me most was when he was telling one of the stewardesses to set a good example and put on her lifebelt and he touched her face as he was telling her. My heart melted. FYI he is going to be in the movie "Let me Call You Sweetheart" based on the novel by Mary Higgins Clark. It is on the Family Channel on Sun. April 26. (Here in Canada)

I also saw Titanic 3 times, and i love the scene when he tells Rose that the ship is going to sink. But The scene i like the most is when Jack and rose are running and then you see him by the fireplace, and Rose is asking him if he is going to try and catch a boat, and he says that he can't because he built the ship so he has to sink with it... it is sooooo sad. I have to do a research paper for school about a topic in "TITANIC" and of course I chose THOMAS ANDREWS!!!

Victor Garber was also in the Disney movie Cinderella (the one with Brandi) and can be seen in the new Broadway play "Art" with another middle-aged cutie, Alan Alda. By the way, "Art" just won the Tony Award for Best New Play. I loved him in Titanic, too!

Outside of Titanic I think I've only seen Garber for less than a minute, in an interview. I was very impressed to hear that his normal accent is so different from the one in the film (Irish, I think).

If anyone is looking for more on Victor Garber, he was also in the movie The First Wives Club with Goldie Hawn and Diane Keaton. However, he played a character not quite as caring as Thomas Andrews, so view with caution.

I didn't see "First Wives Club" till after I saw "Titanic", so needless to say I was surprised to see him in it. I was also very glad, cuz he's such a jerk in "First Wives" that I was impressed with his acting skills. I will be watching for him...

I,too, have noticed his eyes. They say that the eyes are the window to the soul...If that's true then his soul is for all to see and I love what I see! It is a real pity that Victor Garber isn't in many major roles. I'd love to see more of him. He is an incredably talented actor.

Victor Garber has the most sensous and expressive eyes I have seen. His portrayal of Mr. Andrews is thee best there is. You are correct in earlier answer about Godspell, he did indead portray Jesus Christ in Godspell, it was filmed in 1973, so don't feel badly for not recognizing him too quickly. There are some great clubs on www.egroups.com for Victor and Thomas Andrews, go check them out!!!

While the protrayal was excellent, his accent and dialect were extremely poor. Not an Andrews at all!
