Hello! I'm new to this discussion group. I attended Ed Yourdons talk last night and Im quite serious about ways to protect my family and friends. I have heard talks on y2k before and I've done alot of research in regards to the ramifications of it. However, I am fairly new to the survival issues and I would love any suggestions anyone out there has for me. I am a 20 yr old student with not alot of resources available to me, especially when your family and your friends think that you are nuts to think that the world could come to this. How do you change their minds? Where can I get a good printout on the facts? And what tools do I need for survival and where can I obtain them? I would greatly apprieciate anyones advice since we are all in this together. Thank you to any one who wants to help?

Hi Sarah, I tried to email you but your address bounced. Are you sure it's correct?

Sarah Glasser, My E-mail to your address is getting bounced. Do not pass go, go straight to http//garynorth.com Beware this site is not for the faint of heart. There is no candy coating on anything. Download Dr. North's free report "Blindmans Bluff in the Year 2000". I believe this will become like the letters of Thomas Payne of Revolutionary War days. Then go to: http//survivalcenter.com for the basics of what you'll need. Also do you have any crazy aunts or uncles that live out in the sticks somewhere. Look them up and see if they've heard of or understand Y2K and ask if you can come for a "visit" over New Year's 00. But warn them you might have to stay awhile.

Dear Sarah and Doug: I am an old guy and usually considered one of the crazy uncles of the family. They still don't believe me. I have sent "Blind Mans Bluff" to everyone I know. They think he is a crazy old man too. Rather than continue to "rant and rave" I have decided to make my plans quietly and put them into motion when and if the time comes. I have included my family in my plans and hope they recognize the bottom falling out for what it is. I suspect they will still be waiting for the cavalry to arrive till the bitter end. Then what do I do? I'll probably end up being too polite to say, "I told you so"

Sarah, I am a student as well, with very little resources. First and foremost, get yourself out of debt! While you're doing that, try to spread y2k info Most community's I've found are interested in older , skilled professionals & blue-collars .

Ah well, the fight continues.
