Has anyone seen The Man In The Iron mask yet? what did you think of it? I think it might get leo an oscar nomination, seeing as the Academy likes characters who "change" during the movie. (i.e. rose went from being stuck up to .... whatever you want to call that at the end. Anyway, what did you think of this movie?

Haven't seen it yet, but from what I heard, It's not good. The book was great though. It's been recieving bad reviews since it was released. But I will definetly see it.

Yes I have seen The Man in the Iron Mask, and I thought it was great! Even better than I expected. Leo really pulls off both roles in my opinion. You end up really hating the King and feeling such sorrow for his jailed brother. It has humor, action, emotions I didn't expect. I would recommend it.

My husband and I saw "Iron Mask" on opening day, and we both enjoyed it. It will NOT be winning any Oscars, however. It has a very disorganized plot, and the characters aren't very developed. However, it is great fun to watch, and the comraderie and affection expressed by all the male cast members is very genuine. You actually believe them when they shout "all for one, and one for all!" Leonardo is heartbreaking as Phillipe, the poor pathetic creature who's languished in the iron mask for 6 years, and dispicable as Louis XIV, a manipulative peacock with a God complex. Worth at least catching at a matinee.

TMITIM won't be getting any oscars, but it was quite enjoyable! I've seen plenty of Leo's work, and I have to say I had a mixed reaction to his performance. I was amazed at how he portrayed both characters but the accent bothered me; there wasn't one. The dominant male cast was great, but I found myself missing dialogue because of the heavy accents. Leo was the King of France, but no French accent. I thought it was odd. It reminds me of Kevin Costner in "Robin Hood" which was good, but he couldn't pull off an English accent. Overall, I would recommend seeing this film if you want to be entertained!

As much as I do like Leo, I felt like he was in over his head in this movie. The thought of Leo competing against Jeremy Irons or John Malkovich is unthinkable. Leo looked like a little kid compared to these guys. I know the king was young but this was a little ridiculous. Leo did pull off a decent performance but he was still overshadowed by his co-stars. I think the casting director thought Leo would be a good draw at the box office. I think Leo does a better job with his off-the-wall films like 'The Basketball Diaries" and "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" than his latest ventures.

I was impressed with The Man in the Iron Mask! I loved the storyline, and I thought all the acting was great, but I agree with Kirsten that Leo and John Malkovich needed a French accent. I can't understand why the producers would have let all the actors in the film have an accent except two of the most important ones?? It is definitely worth seeing, though.
