Yes, I would like your advice on how to go "off the grid" if necessary. I've seen the usual catalogs on Pv systems and diesel generators. But I have no way of judging the merits of these alternatives from a workability and reliabiltiy standpoint. Please comment.

Yes, I'd like to know what to do if the power shuts off completely and stays off. Having been thru a couple of hurricanes, I have somewhat of an idea for the short term, but would like to develop a personal contingency plan "just in case."
