Electric Industry "Players Only" Forum - Closed Discussion

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Electric Utilities and Y2K : One Thread

At the request of several folks in the electric industry, I've set up a separate password protected forum for electric industry reps who wish to exchange information in a more 'closed' environment. Access to the "Players Only" forum is limited to legitimate electric utility employees.

Industry reps wishing to utilize the "Players Only" forum should contact me via email to request access to this discussion group, and I'll provide details at that time.

A CAUTIONARY NOTE: The "Players Only" forum was set up because I recognize that there are some sensitive and proprietary issues that need to be discussed behind closed doors. However, it is NOT INTENDED that the "Players Only" forum be used for general discussions at the exclusion of the public. Use the "open" euy2k.com forum (the one you're reading now)for those discussions.

I am Electrical Engineer at a power plant in Alberta. We are currently finishing the investigating phase of our Y2K program and hope to begin testing in about a month. In this discussion form I wish to swap experiences with other industry players. I see testing all embedded controls as our biggest challenge in becoming Y2K compliant.
