"Greenspan urges focus on 2000 computer glitch." Greenspan said Wednesday that the 2000 computer bug is already hurting the economy and warned of bigger damage ahead. He "reckoned" that several hundred billion dollars will be spent TRYING to fix the glitch. "The y2k problem is a very serious threat to the U.S. economy." Today gold is in the $265.00 range. I know that the money in the banks are not safe, but I would think it would be better to wait until gold declines further. Please let me know how much you think the gold price would be say within 6 months, 1 year and when Y2K hits. This should be very interesting. I manage funds for a wealthy Asian businessman and am seeking ways to protect purchasing power

I think most of the people I've encountered that are planning for this are thinking more along the lines of putting a "few" coins aside as a universal currency. I'd be interested in hearing Richard's take on the matter as a financial manager. How concerned is your client?

I believe you'll find that gold is closer to the $300. range @ $296. an ounce.
