On track 10 of the soundtrack CD, Death of Titanic, at 6 minutes ~ 6:22, those strange sounds in the background, I say they are supposed to depict the cries for help/death cries of these in the sea, although I seem to have unwittingly picked up some dissenters, What do you think? and anything else in the soundtrack that you've noticed?

I agree with the "cries" interpretation. What else could it be? Something else interesting is that the same part of #8 is played during scenes of the first class stairwell at 2 points: when Rose meets Jack after jumping back on the ship and when she meets him again at the end.

In track 15, the last track, the sound of Titanic hitting bottom at the end always gets me. I can picture different sections of Titanic hitting the ocean floor causing a hugh cloud of sand to rise up around it, engulfing it and then slowing clearing to reveal the wreck. Very emotional....

This doesn't really have anything to do with Track 10, but it does have to do with the score. There is this one section of movie durring the sinking that plays while the water smashes through the glass dome over the grand staircase. All of these people are screaming, and at that point the score just sounds so desperate, and the despair of the people in the water is related so much. This music was also used during the FOX special, but its not on the soundtrack. This is a great piece of music, and I really wish it was on the soundtrack. Anyone else?

At 6:16 - 6:23 of track 10 there is a short theme which someone told me is a quote of John William's score to 'Schindler's List'. Can anyone verify this? If not, does anyone recognize it? I know I've heard it before.

Annie: I was disappointed they didn't include that in the original soundtrack, as well. The music is very powerful at that point. Hopefully, it will be included in the second soundtrack (along with the piano solo played during the drawing scene).

Dan: You're right, that phrase is VERY similar to the one from Schindler's list. The two phrases parallel each other pretty closely in terms of rhythm and melody, except the Titanic one uses smaller intervals (notes are closer together on the keyboard). I think they're even in the same key, so they really do resemble each other. Good catch!
