CNN reports that Titanic is now #3 domestically with $23.2 million this weekend and $337.5 million in total. Does "domestic" include the Canadian box office too? Just wondering . . .

Oops, it's #4 right now, but wait a week and it will be #3, heh heh. Sorry for the typo. Just in case you're wondering, the top moneymaker of all time is the first "Star Wars" movie with $461 million, followed by "E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial" with $399.8 million and No. 3 "Jurassic Park" with $357.1 million.

I heard last weekend that around the world the box office was at $600 million. I wonder what the world's top moneymaker is, Star Wars too or something with more of an international appeal? Anyone know???

The "domestic" market is actually the North American market and does include Canada.

Do these numbers count only ticket sales at theaters, or do they also include home video sales as well? How do they arrive at the figures?

WORLDWIDE, # 1 is JURASSIC PARK more than $900 million dollars but less than $1 billion. TITANIC is in a great position to break that $1 billion barrier (it will be a record of sorts). Domestically, it looks like it has a great chance to be at all-time #2. (AND I THINK IT WILL DEPEND ON ITS OSCARS AWARDS PERFORMANCE...the more awards or nominations it will get the bigger the B.O gross it will rake in. This weekend TITANIC's total gross is $23 million which is the "lowest among its eight weekends gross" since its first showin in the US. Next weekend is very critical since Tuesday is the announcemet of the OSCARS nominees.

I think the real figure for this weekend should be $29.4 million. That's the difference between $337.5 million now and $308.1 million last weekend. This would mean that the movie went better than during the first weekend.
