BAD NEWS!! I just read in the news that Leo might not be nominated in the Oscars!!! I know that he has little chance of winning, but not being nominated at all is ridiculous. Opinions, anyone?

Well, if Leo isn't nominated, Jack Nicholson shouldn't be. But since Nicholson got a GGlobe, I wouldn't be surprised if he was. I just hate the way Nicholson got raves for a performance which seemed so much like all his others. I haven't seen many of Leo's films, but I understand he's pretty versatile. Needless to say, I thought he did a great job in Titanic. Look at this way: even if he doesn't get a nomination, he has his whole life ahead of him and will surely get plenty of roles.

Bob, I totally agree with you about Jack Nicholson! He only seems to have one persona. Leo, on the other hand, seems as if he can play any character perfectly. He definitely deserves at least a nomination.

Don't blame Jack Nicholson if Leonardo doesn't get an Oscar nomination. Jack's a shoo-in (and I happened to really enjoy his performance in the quirky "As Good As It Gets" as went beyond his usual persona in this role.) It's some of the other nominations that will knock Leo out of the running. I personally want Peter Fonda to win for his stellar performance in "Ulee's Gold;" it was brilliant!! Matt Damon was quite good in "Good Will Hunting" although I didn't care for the movie itself. And I haven't seen either of the movies for the other two frontrunners in this category: Dustin Hoffman in "Wag the Dog," and Al Pacino in "Donnie Brasco." The Best Actor category is probably the hardest one to crack when these big names are in pretty good movies. I would love to see Leo get a nomination, but I'm not holding my breath.

well,i think that Leo is going to be nominated for an Oscar, you can just see him there crying out for one,he has released two films really near the end of the year so people like us have him fresh in our minds, you have to rember when "they" choose the nominations they're not just looking at what they did in that one film the look at there acting career in general. But i don't think he'll get one sorry!
