Thomas: Fill us in! I don't get that strip in my local paper. Can it be found on the net somewhere?

Thanks, Peter

It is so funny! I will fill you guys in: Foxtrot is a cute strip about a family, two parents/three kids. On Monday, the parents Roger (Dad) and Andie (Mom) are at the theater and have just finished watching TITANIC. Roger is saying, "well, we've finally seen the movie. That was pretty good for 3 hours." And Andie, who is still sitting in her seat mesmerized by the screen in the empty theater, says, "Pretty good! You call the most beautiful, haunting, romantic, exciting, breathtaking, most wonderful love story I've seen my entire life, PRETTY GOOD?!! Roger, I don't think I want to go home with you!" On Tuesday, Andie is at home sniffling and her kids are asking her, "what's wrong mom, do you have a cold? somebody die?" And all Andie can do is shake her head. In the last box she finally blurts out "TITANIC Soundtrack!" Wednesday was my favorite, because it totally fit me. Roger asks Andie, "Sweetie shouldn't you change your answering machinge message? You still have the message that was playing last Monday when you went to see that matinee of TITANIC." Andie asks "what's wrong with that?" Roger: "Well, nothing if you've been seeing matinees of TITANIC for ten straight days." Andie: Looks sheephish. Roger: Starts screaming in frustration. Andie: That's exactly the way the man in front of me was crying in today's showing!" (This totally fit me, because I actually changed my answering machine for awhile to say, "We're not home -- we're out seeing the TITANIC again!"-- as a joke.) Thursday was about the nerdy son telling Andie about how all the special effects were done in TITANIC. The dad was paying him to try to turn her off from the movie because she's so obsessed with it and ignoring the family. Of course she sees right through it, and in the last box, she says, "I'm off to the six o'clock showing, t.v. dinners are in the fridge!" Today's (Friday) strip shows Roger trying to explain to Andie that she's getting too carried away. Andie: "But for the six hours I'm at the theater, it's like they are all alive and real again." Roger: "Six hours? Don't you mean three?" Andie: "I can't drive all the way to the cineplex and just see it once!"

I'm probably not portraying this to sound as funny as it really is. Check it out if you get the strip in your local paper.

You can access the Foxtrot website at www.foxtrot.com and from there a list of newspapers that run the Foxtrot comic strip. I then picked our local newspaper The Detroit Free Press (www.freep.com) and was able to see and print out the six comic strips (February 2-7) for my "Titanic" files. Have fun!!

I found a site that has back comics for the last 2 weeks. The FoxTrot.com site doesn't have the Titanic ones yet.
