What anachronism/gaffe/historical errors *should* have been included in Titanic?

For starters, the biggest anachronism is the one we all hope for (about halfway through the film): the ship doesn't hit the iceberg!

A New York Post headline "TITANIC CROSSES ATLANTIC IN RECORD TIME!"

With a small gossip column in Philadelphia about a broken engagement between a couple with the intials CH and RDB and something about a french artist she met on the Titanic? ;-)

Nothing! I think it is beautiful and nothing can make it better than it already is

Well, there are lots of apocryphal stories...

There's Rigel, the black Newfounland dog who jumped from the ship and whose barks guided Carpathia to the lifeboats...

Then there's first class passenger Marie Young, who saw the iceberg an ***hour*** before the collision...

Then there's the story of the pig that was taken into a lifeboat and rescued. At least that one has a grain of truth to it. It was a music box in the shape of a pig (it was wound up by turning its tail). It was owned by passenger Edith Russell, who used it to entertain some children in her lifeboat until the tail broke. The musical pig is now owned by Walter Lord, one of his most prized possessions.

Cheers!

This isn't really an "anachronism", but I think Rose should've found herself pregnant with Jack's baby (a piece of him would be with her forever...).

Sorry, Gilded, someone mentioned that elsewhere, and my response then and now is, no way, too Hollywood. I liked Cameron's ending.

It's classic romance formula (I know, I read too many smut books)! I never said I didn't like Cameron's ending, Mr. Argumentative, but I think it would've been cool my way, too.

SO THERE! pthpthtpthtptpthpthtpthth! :)

Now THAT sound I haven't seen (heard) before. All I know is there's a big wad of spit on my face, and a young lady is running away from me...how ungilded age like,I never!
