in my last question, i mentioned a few themes and motifs i saw in Titanic.. (you can find it at http://www.greenspun.com/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg.tcl?msg_id=0001cG ) i was wondering, of those mentioned in my posts and of other people's posts, how many were planned by the the writer/director/producer.. what themes/motifs did cameron consciously demonstrate/emphasize?

I am also curious about this. I believe these things are among those that make up a screenplay, for which I think Titanic is getting a bum rap. What are all the elements of a screenplay? So far I'm aware of dialogue, symbolism, symmetry..
