Guys . . . (and gal) . . .

By now you should have your letter from the negotiating committee. First and foremost in our discussions has been the pilots' pay. We will not settle for anything less than full and equal pay, bringing pilots on freight vessels up to equal pay with pilots on passenger vessels; removal of the VMC from the bargaining unit with the understanding the there will be meetings between the Port Captain and the negotiating committe and the Senior Captains to review the past and future of the Senior Captain Program; pay raises equal to the engineers, plus the necessary increase to make the master the highest paid person on the vessel.

I will answer any and all questions to the best of my ability for anyone who asks . . .

Jim thanks for the update on the conserns of the negotiating team, I hope that not only is the PILOT's pay brought up to paridy but it is brought to paridy from April 15th 1997 and not April 15th 1998 as the rumors seem to indicate. By April 1998 there will have been quite a few pilots who will have worked as a lower payed pilot, this is their money and mine lets not give it up.. yours hoping for a good vacation, after the contract is signed.
