No. I don't know much about Gloria Stuart (actress who played old Rose), just that she was quite the looker, and a semi-movie star back in her heyday (the 30's). I also heard something about the fact that her past somewhat resembled Rose's. Not the TITANIC part, maybe she too was from an upper class family and was forcibly engaged to a man she didn't love. Anyone have more info?

Kristen:

Rose was a fictional character, as were her mother, Jack Dawson, Fabrizio, Cal Hockley, and Spicer Lovejoy.

Captain Smith, Thomas Andrews, Colonel Gracie, J. J. and Madeline Astor, Ben Guggenheim, Bruce Ismay, Molly Brown, and the Countess of Rothes were all historical figures and actual Titanic passengers and crew. Their interactions with Cameron's characters were obviously fictionalized, although some of their interactions were based on historical accounts.

Cheers!

No. The whole titanic movie is fictional, but obviously the titanic was a real boat that actually sank. the movie is a interpretation of what could have happened, and what some of the passengers could have gone through to achieve thier goal at the time of the accident.

Very touching, have a kleenex ready.
