Come Josephine lyrics

Hi, after hearing "Come Josephine" on "Titanic" I'm almost certain I've heard the song before. Can anyone give me the lyrics, as I can only remember the tune.

Thanks!

Actually, the Real acurate words that were sung in the movie were- "Come Josphine in my flying machine, going up! She Goes! Up she goes." That should help. Also previously their was someone who said that her dad knew all the words. Could that person right all the words down or better yet have her dad sing it onto a .wav so we can hear the tune. Thanx.

The lyrics to that song are in the script which can be found on Drew's-Script-O-Rama page

One small detail that I believe is worth mentioning here: when Brock asks old Rose to tell her story, he asks her "Are you ready to go back to the Titanic?" And she agrees. When her daughter tries to stop her and send her to sleep, Rose is very adamantly, saying 'NO!' The same way she said no when she was 17. In the end of the movie, the symetry requires that Rose go back to Titanic, now being the flying machine. Thus fulfilling another request of Jack: "Come Josephine in my flying machine/ Up she goes, and up she goes..." (the last thing we see in the grand staircase is the white light radiant ceiling. Instead of water, there's a Heaven where they all go for absolution.

I have no real audio player, but I'd like to get the lyrics. Could anyone write them here, please? It shouldn't take long. Thanx!

it's not hard to get a real audio player. you can get them free at www.realaudio.com It would take a little bit to write out the whole song here simply because I can't understand all the words. You have to remember this recording sounds like it was recorded off an old phonograph so it sounds kinda scratchy like a record. hope you can all get the real audio so you can hear it. it's Great!!! Very cute:)

Miranda, I went to that site but they charge you 30 bucks. From where can I download for free? Need help!

-- Dan Draghici (ddraghic@ccs.carleton.ca), February 09, 1998.

To Dan: You can get the RA player for nothing by downloading the trial version or whatever they call it. It's not the "latest version but works well and is free. i will go to the site and see if I can post the address here.

To Dan: http://www.realaudio.com/products/player/index.html

Go to this site and down load the Realplayer 5.0 version but NOT the "plus" version as that is the 30 dollar one. Hope this helps!

Okay here goes.....

Oh saay let us fly there. Where kid? To the sky there. oh you flying machine! Jump in Mrs. josephine. Jump ahoy! Oh joy what a feeling. Feels so something apealing. So high look how we fly through the sky so high! Come josephine in my flying machine going up she goes, up she goes. Balance yourself like a bud on a beam, in the air she goes, There she goes. Up, Up a little bit higher. OH MY the moon is on fire. Come joseohine in my flying machine going up so long good bye!!

Now, That's only the first verse but I'm not going to write out the whole song since it's so long. Hope you guys like this:)

I finally found the full lyrics to "Come Josephine, In My Flying Machine" on a Titanic website at http://www.erols.com/candidus/ttnicbk.htm Enjoy!!! (I'm not sure the line-by-line formatting of the lyrics will work when I submit this message. If not, go to the originating site and print from there.)

This was a popular 1911 tune by Ada Jones & Billy Murphy on an Edison Blue Ambersol cylinder record.

Oh, say! Let us fly, dear. Where, kid? To the sky dear. Oh, you flying machine! Jump in Miss Josephine. Ship Ahoy! Oh, joy! What a feeling. Feels cold, thru the ceiling. Ho, high! Hoopla, we fly! To the sky so high.

(Chorus) Come Josephine, in my flying machine, Going up, she goes! Up she goes! Balance yourself like a bird on a beam, In the air she goes; there she goes! Up, up, a little bit higher. Oh, my! The moon is on fire. Come, Josephine in my flying machine, Going up, all on, "Goodbye"

One, two, now we're off, dear. Oh, you, pretty soft, dear. Whoa! Say! Don't hit the moon. Oh, no, not yet but soon. You for me, Oh, gee! You're a fly kid. Not me, I'm a sky kid. Gee! I'm up in the air about you for fair. (Repeat Chorus)

Sounds a little bit like someone was smokin' a little somethin' while writing those lyrics! Tee hee! :)

Incidentally...James Cameron has a daughter named Josephine, I believe.

The words to the actual song, and the words sang by Maire Brennan on the "Back to Titanic" soundtrack are different. What is sang in the movie is Come, Josephine in my flying machine Going up she goes, up she goes Balance yourself like a bird on a beam In the air she goes, there she goes Up, up a little bit higher Oh, my the moon is on fire Come, Josephine in my flying machine Going up, all on, goodbye Oh, say, let us fly girl Where dear? to the sky girl Oh you flying machine Jump in, Miss Josephine Come Josephine in my flying machine going up, all on, goodbye.

Oh, say! Let us fly, dear
Where, kid?
To the sky dear
Oh, you flying machine!
Jump in Miss Josephine
Ship Ahoy!
Oh, joy! What a feeling
Feels cold, thru the ceiling. Ho, high!
Hoopla, we fly! To the sky so high

(Chorus)
Come Josephine, in my flying machine
Going up, she goes! Up she goes!
Balance yourself like a bird on a beam
In the air she goes; there she goes!
Up, up, a little bit higher.
Oh, my! The moon is on fire.
Come, Josephine in my flying machine
Going up, all on, "Goodbye"

(Repeat Chorus)

One, two, now we're off, dear.
Oh, you, pretty soft, dear.
Whoa! Say! Don't hit the moon.
Oh, no, not yet but soon. You for me,
Oh, gee! You're a fly kid.
Not me, I'm a sky kid.
Gee! I'm up in the air about you for fair

(Repeat Chorus)

i've found that the link given in a previous post to hear the song doesnt work. this site: http://www.shsu.edu/~lis_fwh/book/appendex/Audio2.htm does in fact have the audio file of "come josephine." it's such a cute song. they really should have played the whole song at one point in the movie, hehe. "come, josephine, in my flying machine, going up! hold on! goodbye!"
