SQL Server 6.5 supports multi-byte asian languages

Kimberley,

SQL Server 6.5 does support asian languages but it is best to choose that option at the time SQL is installed. The following note is from the help file for SQL Setup.

Use the Character Sets dialog box to choose which character set to install. The default character set is ISO. It is critical that you select the correct character set when you first install SQL Server. If you need to change character sets after you've installed SQL Server, you must rebuild the databases and reload the data.

Supported asian languages include (but are not limited to) Korean, Japanese, and simplified and traditional Chinese.
