I have two limited edition prints from the Iranian artist Iraj Taj-Tehrani. Can anybody provide me with information regarding the artist or if perhaps there is a market for his work. I have appraisals from the artist dated 1993, but I don't know if the values are valid. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You, Brad Clark bradc@mcn.org

Is this the batik artist who had a studio in Carmel during the 1970s?

We have two of his batik prints and have wondered what happened to Taj. We have no recent information, and 1993 is much later than our contacts with him.

If you learn anything about him, please send an email to me.

Thanks.

Taj is currently living in Seaside, CA. He is still selling his work and has a beautiful Persian style Madonna that I would love to obtain. I think you will be happy with the value of your painting depending upon when you purchased it.

I took care of Taj for five years when he was an architecture student at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. I have two of his original batiks (Persimmons in a snow storm and Mission San Luis Obispo) and one limited edition print (Persian woman in garden).

If anyone can supply his address, please e-mail to me. Thanks.

We lived above Taj's gallery in Carmel in the 1970's and have 3 original silk batiks and several limited edition prints. I also have art from his (former) wife. He was a good friend and I would very much like to contact him as well

Taj has been hospitalized for over 1 1/2 years now .... he is in rehab in Salinas ... has an extremely poor heart ... is too weak for transplant ... he does go to his home in DelRey Oaks a coupld of days a month .. his brother Tony relocated from San Francisco and is taking care of house and Taj matters. I live in Tempe AZ ... am a former Carmelite .... and spent many hours .. on the Taj Magic Carpet .... went up to Carmel the first of June .... had a wonderful evening with Taj ... his brother ... and a couple of others ... he is weak ... but still is Taj ... and the 4'X6" "Wings of Freedom" i hainging in his home gallery .... I hope to help Tony and Taj revitalize his work ... he is a dear friend and needs support .... expecially financial .. and I hope to set up a web site to sell his awesome art.
