Response to dog ear infection
from Karen Mauk (dairygoamama@hotmail.com)
Cara, What we used to use in the good old days for rabbit mites, was
to clean out the ears and put vegetable oil in the ear. This has to
be done every day for about a week. You can buy ear mite medicine at
farm supply stores now, but the oil worked pretty good. If it is an
infection, well that antibiotic will work, I like the subq. cause it
is easier to give. Oh subcutaneous, means it is given under the skin,
not in the muscle. If you have ever given a cat a shot you will
really appreciate the subq. injection. Good luck with your dog, I
know how expensive those vet bills can be.
