The obvious sign was constant speed on the speed bar... or going from 0 to almost instant super speed...
And to make it even worse, you can cheat by slowing the emulation with an Ultrasound Card... it slows the game to a crawl, and if you turn off the CPU cache.... it's even worse, making T&F records practically meaningless.
