can i be terminated for being out due to an injury to my knee aproxamatly one month after? i was not injured on the job but had an excuse from the doctor and was placed on light duty. about one month later i left work after advising my super. i was in need of medical attention and he refused to allow me to go to the e.r. when i got to e.r. i was placed in icu for two days, when i returned to work i was allowed to work my shift when i returned the next day after two hours i was suspended until the next day when i returned i was fired and was told it was because of the knee injury. is there any thing i can do. thanks for any assistance, shelia.
