Grady Cross Country teams win City Championships for the 7th year in a row!

As the weather finally turned chilly and wet, our boys and girls cross country teams got their long awaited sweatsuits, then proceeded to warm up for the coming region competition by smoking all the other schools in the city at the championship race today. The girls won the first race by placing all seven runners in the top 10 overall in the race, for a low total of 22 points. Arielle D'Avanzo and Ella Miller led the team with 2nd and 3rd place in the race. The boys followed Nick Stephens (1st) and Saji Girvan (2nd) to an equally convincing win with a total of 24 points.

The Region 5AA championship competition will be held at Our Lady of Mercy school, Thursday, Oct 21, starting at 3:45pm. We must finish in the top 4 schools to qualify for the state meet. The prospects look good for another trip to Carrollton, November 6th, and a possible top 4 finish for both teams. Come watch us run!!
