Well he spread of Hellenistic (Greek culture) through most of the known world, this changed the culture of the world forever. Modern ideas about medicine and government, science and architecture. Future Empire eg romans spread this knowledge even further ie Britain, who in turn with their empire spread it to all the continents, so Greek culture and learning has helped to devleop the world and still survives today.
