The boys and girls of the cross country team have been training hard the month of June. Boys have been running at Piedmont Park with Mr. Buerkle and the girls have been training at Candler Park with Mr. Cramer. Attendance has been good and the kids have put in some serious miles. Several of the boys will be attending a week long running camp in North Carolina in late July. A group of 17 girls spent last weekend in Ellijay running on trails in the mountains. It was a very productive and fun time.
We are purchasing new uniforms for the team this year. With more than 100 runners expected on the team, we will need to supplement the cost with some fund raisers. We are planning an odd job/baby sitting service for a two week period later in the summer. Please look around for those projects you have been putting off, or plan a night on the town, away from the younger kids. We will provide the help, you can contribute to the uniform fund instead of paying the kids directly. Keep an eye on this forum for details.
Our competitive season gets underway with the Berry College Invitational on Sept 4th. Watch out! We will be ready.
