I have PS2 model 39001 (american ps2), I can't play any DVD disk (NTSC & PAL).

My system shows the following configuration:

Console SCPH-39001 Browser 1.20 CD player 1.20 Playstation Driver 1.10 DVD player 2.12U

I can configure only the console & the driver options other options are disabled.

You might try looking for a PS2 group. Sorry, but your post is a little off topic for us. I don't have a PS2 and I don't know much about them other than they are notorious for not being able to play certain DVDs.

PS2 cant play burned anything except music. This includes DVDs (VCD). You can however buy a mod chip and try that, just remember, its a suggestion and I really havent tried it but it's worth a shot.
