Was Alexander the Great only interested in military conquest

Personaly I think it is rather too simplistic to say "was he only interested in military conquest?" because, for the most part, conquest was the only way he could fulfil his actual ambition... which was to surpass all others. So yes, it was his only interest, but as a means to an end.

Perhaps, as you say, the question is simplistic. However, may I point out that you asked it. By the way, the answer is 'no'. Alexander had many interests. Drinking, for example. Pyrotechnics. Horses. Meddling. He was a multi-faceted man with many facets. More facets than you can shake a stick at.
