war in religion

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Alexander the Great Q&A Forum : One Thread

I am currently working on a research paper that discusses the importance and role religion and tradition had in ancient Rome. What role did religion play in Alexander's conquests? Did he use prayer before war, consult the augurs, and or use devotes to sacrifice for the conquest of Rome?

Here's a hint. Do some research on the oracle that took place in Delphi with Alexander.

As a Messenger of God, Alexander was in frequent communion with God and those Angels who supported his mission.

I see I have fallen victim to the dreadful echo in here. Sorry. The place was built to accomodate thousands, but is currently occupied only by the lone caretaker, myself.

Please excuse the wait. I am currently compiling an estimated billing for the information you request. We don't have much demand for such esoteric goods and are currently out of stock. I think they stopped making it in the 1960s, but I may be able to find some languishing at the back of the warehouse.

In the meantime, you might want to consider our closeout sale on the name of Alexander's horse. It is available in all sizes, but only in the color "chestnut", and it can be shipped direct to your door on a moment's notice. Very popular with the kiddies. Makes an excellent Christmas gift.
