The Patch (aka the inevitable birth control thread)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Xeney : One Thread

I was dinking around and came across a Ortho Evra, which is a hormonal birth control patch--replaced once a week.

I'm reconsidering hormonal birth control (along with the IUD--can't do diaphragms because of a newly vicious spermicide allergy). This looks good in terms of convenience. I'm better at remembering to do something every week than I am every day. But it can be stopped much more easily than, say, depo.

Anyone have any experience?

Hell, while I'm at it, anyone have any experience with NuvaRing?

The NuvaRing looks interesting. But one of the reasons I'm on the pill is because I have acne, and the Diane 35 cuts back on it considerably (not completely, though. Crap).

I find it amusing that a typical spot to put the patch is on your ass.

With the ring form of birth control, wouldn't it get stuck or at least have a very good chance of that happening?

Lunelle looks like an interesting alternative as well.
