Half asleep
I have yet to awake
Life is blurred
Not much more to take
When life is blurred
And reality is surreal
When a heart is broken
And a soul cannot feel
When a mind is lost
When a body is tired
When the blood is thin
When the nerves are wired
Sleep never comes easy
The habit keeps you awake
Long nights of nothing
Nothing to fake
Your eyes are shot
The light has faded
Life holds nothing
'Cept memories jaded
You sit alone
Within your chair
Wondering what
In life is fair
Addictions got you
By the throat
The drug warms
And lets you float
But what once was
Now must end
For this body
Is without a friend
Its only nourishment
Came from a shot
And now its time
To end the rot
I stand in shadow
With so much pain
Nothing left to live for
'Cept endless stain
One frail body
Cannot take so much
One sickly mind
Cannot use the crutch
When options run out
And choices divine
When life is meaningless
You draw on the line
When emotion is lost
And feelings are gone
The desire to die
Begins to dawn
Life holds nothing
So I bid it adieu
To everyone in it
I love all of you
Just try to remember
Before I leave
The message is simple
The message we weave
Its not drugs that kill
Nor guns, nor booze
Its simply addiction
To whatever we chose
But before you give your body
To some product of earth
Remember my message
And take measure its worth
It was never the drugs
That drove me insane
But the addiction that got me
And caused my pain

It is realy good (excellent) but then what do I know,.. I can't write to save my life,.. well ok maybe to save my life. It's an interesting topic and well presented. Appropriatly presented as it's for everyone and everyone can enjoy it. It's relative to most people too.

First time I saw this I thought it to be some kind of suicide note (thought I'd never seen a suicide note to be so poetic). However man, this is really good.
