The knight’s wife reveals that she has magical powers and can change her appearance. Should the knight choose to have his wife stay old and ugly but be assured that she will be true and kind to him forever, or should he have her become young and beautiful but run the risk of her cheating on him and possibly leaving him for another man? Explain why you chose your answer.

Answers

The wife should be old and ugly so that the husband will not be in trouble at any point and that he would not have any trouble from his wife.

If she has magical powers, then the old lady could stay in whatever form she wished-or whatever form the knight wished. If he needed advice and loyalty, then she should stay in the old lady's form. If he wanted to screw around and have her the same age, then she should be in the young beautiful form. It depends on what he is in the mood for.

She's magical so she could be young and beautiful and still have the qualities of the old, ugly woman. Go with the better qualities of both and combine them.

Old and Ugly - then she would be kind, and it would be reassuring to know that your wife was not cheating on you and maybe you would eventually come to see the beauty in her

Old and ugly because the knight was foolish enough to committ to such a wish for the answer to his quest. He should also be educated enough to know that a wise and knowledgable wife would be better than a useless and innocent wife.

Once again, I'll pull in the evolutionary standpoint argument. With an "old and ugly" wife, she is far past childbearing age... however, he hadn't seemed to want to be married in the first place (and thus didn't want kids). Being old and wise she saved his life once; what if he needed her wisdom again? Noone ever needed beauty to survive (except as, once again, to keep oneself in the gene pool).

I would have her do whatever she wanted because women like to have total control over men. In order for her to be truely lyal I feel that it whould be up to her discression. If the man wanted either one of the answeres, it shows that he does not care about what the woman truely wants. I think that the woman should choose whatever is in her heart.

I would choose to have the wife old and ugly. It's more important to fulfill personal and emotional needs than physical needs with your spouse.

Hmmm. I think the Knight chose physical beauty over devotion. Sadly, many men (and I won't deny it, women too!) can be total fools for superficial beauty. The Knight would have had a hard time being married to "an old hag". I think he would have taken his chances with the gorgeous woman instead, because his desires would be more easily fulfilled.

I believe that the knight should let the woman sty old and ugly. That way, she will use her powers when he needs them. She will also be faithful to him.

I think he should chose the old and ugly hag because then he will know that she will never leave and will always be loyal.

The knight is a shallow man who is more concerd with how his wife looks then what wisdom she has. The knight will choose the young and beautiful wife even if she is not good to him for he is a shallow man. If he was concerd with having the best wife he could have he should have the old ugly wife would is wise and could lead him to good fourtine instead or sorrow or lose. DON"T SPLICE AND DICE THE QUESTION!

The knight would most definately choose the lady to make herself young and beautiful. We already know that he acts only upon what he wants, and doesn't really think things out. So, he would choose the option that makes him the most happy at that moment. However, I think he should tell her to be young, beautiful, and a goof wife.

He should want the woman to stay like she is. Loyalty, kindness and being overall a good wife is much more important than looks. Looks are only external, what matters is what is on the inside.

If i were a man i would choose to have her to be young and beautiful, because men are just like that. Also for his argument if she becomes pretty and young she could divorce him and he could rid himeself of this whole situation and start all over again.

Whoppps. uh, thats what I think the knight would have chosen. If i were in the situation, i would have taken the intelligent and old/ugly.
