greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

For the past three evenings I have tried to bring this forum up. No go! OK. I'll admit it. I am hooked! I don't know what to do with the hour I reserve for checking my E-mail and reading this forum. I could read I guess but thats no fun anymore. Maybe do one of those many chores I never have time for. Naw!! Well anyway I am just glad your back before I had a total breakdown! Whew!

Think I gained 5 pounds from eating and waiting for it to come back online.

I was upset too. I'm new to this forum, but I really enjoy it! :)

-- Paul Martin (rpm44@centurytel.net), May 01, 2002.

Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz is it really back up or is this a flashback??? I gotta walk off some shakes, later caretaker......

Not being able to read this forum has really made me nervous. I think I'm addicted. No, I know I am addicted. I went to this other forum, Kountry Life, and looked around. Doesn't even compare to this one. I am so glad it's back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm hooked too! It drives me nuts when I can't check out what's going on AND it costs me money. I figure, okay, you can't get on the forum you might as well see if there's anything good on ebay and it never fails I start bidding. So, Chuck, when's the new one going to be ready? (help me save some money please)

My husband was making fun of me!!! Calling me a junkie!! I feel so much better now. Now that I have my fix. :)

Try moderating a down site. All the desperate emails :>)

The backup sites are sure a big help.

I was prepared. I took a year off sometime ago and learned the sun still comes up and the rain falls without the internet. The only bad thing was that the bills kept coming also !

-- Joel Rosen (JoelnBecky@webtv.net), May 01, 2002.

Stay Calm, stay calm. Fortunately I haven't been able to sit at my computer for the last three days so I didn't know this site was down. But usually when it goes down I have the same nervous breakdown as you and start pulling my hair out. I use to have plenty of time for my hair to grow back. But here lately they are just barely breaking the skin when I start pulling them out again. Chuck is going to have to hurry and do something about this.

if it's that bad, maybe these sites could be helpful ; )

Oh I know! I miss reading what everyone is doing and thinking. It's like we "know"each other, for goodness sake.

-- Ardie/WI (ardie54965@hotmail.com), May 02, 2002.

Me too! Isn't there another site we can go to and post the same questions? Glad everyone is back.

-- Hank (hsnrs@att.net), May 02, 2002.

So we can all survive if the world stops and life as we know it ends, but don't take away our forum! (LOL) It make me wonder how self-sufficent we really are if we have such a hard time without this wonderful forum? I include myself in that too, by the way.

-- Susan in MN (nanaboo@paulbunyan.net), May 02, 2002.

So glad I'm not the only one!!!! I think I checked about 4 or 5 times a day to see if it was back up!

-- Shannon at Grateful Acres Animal Sanctuary (gratacres@aol.com), May 02, 2002.

I have pretty much known that I am addicted. I tryed cold turkey once and really had a hard time!!! Then I tryed just every day, but only ONCE. Then every other day......etc. I think I would have been o.k. if we had had some DECENT WEATHER!!! Yuck, cold and rainy here. Anyway.........glad we are back and did appreciate the backup sites, even though they don't compare to lucenet.

-- diane (gardiacaprines@yahoo.com), May 02, 2002.

Only 4 or 5 times? I think I checked about every 1/2 hour while at work. Couldn't believe it was down so long! Not only was the forum down, it's been gray, rainy & cool here - can't even get in the gardens! Sure glad it's back up!

-- Debbie in IL (debbie@fli-soft.com), May 02, 2002.

Oops - a little too quick there - meant to mention I was glad to have the new goats and the goslings (arrived Tues) for entertainment while waiting for the forum to come back up!

-- Debbie in IL (debbie@fli-soft.com), May 02, 2002.

That addiction quiz was cool. I'm an "average" surfer.

-- Jay Blair in N. AL (jayblair678@yahoo.com), May 02, 2002.

I've been working so hard the past few days, gardening and putting up fence, that I hadn't had the time or strength to check out what was going on in the forum...PLUS I was so overwhelmed by the fact that there were actually homesteaders out there looking for diapers for their livestock, I guess I was just in a daze......

-- Harmony (harmonyfarm57@hotmail.com), May 02, 2002.

What, Diapers for livestock? That is as bad as waterbeds for cows to relax on while waiting to be milked ( there was an article about that in our local paper this past week). I sure didn't know this site was down...the sun has been shining for a few days here in Texas (not today though)...and was working on the job in town and finally getting my garden planted. Yesterday, we had a beautiful baby donkey born...She is just beautiful and so lively...no problems with the birthing. A beautiful May Day....I think I'll name her "Maypop"...she just popped out in May...I thought she wouldn't be here for another month. Anyway...yesterday was a beautiful day for new babies to be born. I hope our other donkey delivers as easy as this one. She looks big enough to have triplets and was really irritated that her friend is already done with the birthing ordeal. She is having a lot of trouble rolling over in the dirt these days. Rolling is fairly easy, but getting up is another problem.

I didn't know the site was down either. The weather has been so beautiful! It's cool that I am beginning to recognize names on the forum. I've even emailed some of you.
