Do you have an used copy of Square Foot Gardening?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

'Cause if you do, and you are willing to part with it, I'd like to buy it or swap for it.

Check out Amazon.com or Barnes and Noble in their used book section. They usually have a few copies at a reasonable price. That's where I got my copy. Excellent service!!!!

I'm sure bookfinder.com will have a copy, and they are cheaper than just about any other book locator on the net.

I just checked at half.com They have a copy for $10.95 plus shipping; prices go up from there - sometimes waaay up! eBay has several listed with bids as low as $3; but I'm not very good at figuring out the bid system.

You've made a good choice of a book - I couldn't give up my much loved and very ragged copy! If you aren't dead set on Mel Bartholmew's "Square Foot Gardening"; you might give Jeff Ball's "The Self-Sufficient Surburban Garden" a try ($7.95 @ half.com). It has some info on square foot gardening in it, and a lot of other info too.

If you type square+foot+gardening or Mel+Bartholomew+square+foot+gardening into google, you'll find a ton of sites with a ton of information - just to hold you 'til you can get a copy of the book! Good Luck!

Can't put my hand on mine right now, but if I come across it in the next couple of days, I will let you know.

Tis, I just checked bookfinder.com and they have a gazillion copies through various book dealers. The cheapest was from Alibris bookstore @ $6.35 for a used copy in good condition. Shipping on that one is $3.50 for the first book - .95 for each additional book you buy from them (orders of $50 or more ship free). Other dealers ranged from $6.50 up to $18.00 - I didn't bother looking up the shipping costs (which vary depending on location of bookstore and, sometimes, where they ship to.)

Check out bookfinder.com everybody - it really is the best deal out there when you need a book cheap. Especially if you're looking for one that's been out of print awhile. (And, no - I don't own stock or have any other interest in the company. Consider this a public service announcement.)

Hey, thanks all. I guess I should have mentioned in my original post that I had checked the possibility out in Half.com. I didn't mean to cause all of you to do my looking up homework. I love Half.com, but the buggers simply REFUSE to trade! What kind of business model is that? ::grin::

I just figured with all you fellow homesteaders out there and knowing your penchant for haunting yard sales, auctions and what not, that someone would have an extra copy sitting on the shelf they'd part with.

As I age that garden looks a LOT bigger than it did in my youth, and I need to learn how to consolidate.

I do appreciate all the responses, and I'll wait a day or two before I order from one of the booksellers in case one of you may have what I need. I am also appreciative of all the other discount bookseller information, some I never heard of before.

you could remove a copy from your local public library.

Let's see D.R., I have lots of books, it would help to know your interests. Have you ever read the Solar Greenhouse Book?
