Natural preventatives for wood ticks

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Wood ticks are out as soon as the snow melts and this year they are particularly thick!! I'd really like some natural tick preventatives to use on our dogs, cats and horses!?!? I can pick them, but it's a several times a day chore this year! HELP!! Thanks, Pam Becker

A little garlic powder in the critters food seems to help as does free range poultry.

Get yourself a flock of guineas! Even with chickens and guineas pecking near and far the ticks seem to multiply! Never ending battle.

Guineas do graze on ticks until dark - at which time if they WON'T go into shed, the owls will "graze" on them!
