Looking for plans to make wooden goat/sheep chute

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I am looking for plans (or a nice picture to copy) of a goat (pygmy) chute made from wood. I need it to worm, give shots, dehorn, trim hooves, etc. I guess something used for sheep would also work. Thanks for any help.

I think this site has some, I have alot on paper too. Realy should scan them. CPS This site deals entirly on chute design but is pretty large scale. Grandin I'll check for some more basic designs, a chute system is this years essential project here.

Thanks Ross. I already found that chute plan in the first site you sent me to. I guess I'm looking for a simpler, more accessible type chute. I have a plan for a llama chute, I guess I can scale it down. I couldn't get to the second site. I found a very simple one for my horses but I need to really restrain their little goat heads. It's all fun and games till someone gets there fingers twisted off in their little horns...lol. Amazing how strong some of these goats are. Some let us do anything, others act like we are trying to kill them. (and I just might) ;)

Ross,

Thanks for the websites. I raise Jacob sheep and have been puzzling over a feeder that would keep their fleeces clean and wouldn't catch their horns. Think I found what I was looking for.

Ooooh, great! I'm going to look these up. I've got a 300# Saanen wether that is just a love... until I try to worm him or do his feet! And, hate to say it, but they look like skis now. debra in nm
