The new roman empire is the united nations today. It has exceeded the original as predicted. It stems from the original. Many believe that the bible refers to Alexander the Great in the book of Daniel. He describes in detail a conqueror who does exactly what Alex the Great accomplished and in the same exact order hundreds of years earlier, then describes how the territories are divided up among the generals. Most importantly he notes that "out of" this group the LAST great evil empire will come. But it will appear politically correct AND be embraced by the entire world, (when in Gods eyes it promotes blasphemy). The united nation's does just that. It appears peaceful and correct but doesnt want anything to do with God. It exceeds the early roman empire and is now filled with many terrorist seated within it,(like Lybia for example).

All his generals fought over his Empire while his body was still warm. Of course Hephaestion was not around to witness this as he died before Alexander. Very, very tragic.

Very good answer ("to the strongest"). This is a very widely written of quote which cannot be verified, at least not by me. However it is supported by the fact that Alexanders empire divided up many ways by his generals and other political leaders and it basically dissolved into nothing due to many 'civil' wars. Much of it was forgotten as well.

When asked on his deathbed, "To whom does your kingdom goes to" It is reported that he said "To the Strongest"

Someone else started to collect the taxes. Several someone elses in fact. All of whom resembled Alexander, insofar as they were all well armed.

From time to time they sent out armies and tried to collect taxes somewhere that was already claimed by somebody else. Then there would be a big fight over who got to collect those taxes. When the dust settled, the taxes were still due.
