Anyone know stuff about Apache campers?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I recently purchased a Apache Roamer pop-up camper. It has hard sides (no canvas) On the ID plate it says 37-000-726/ Vesely Co/ SAE-L-65 Anyone know the year of this model camper? In your opinion in fair condition what is this camper worth?

Is there a online place to get accessories for this type camper?

Thanks for your help.

K in NC, I have a N.A.D.A. appraisal guide that is from early 2000. It lists the Roamer as being built in 1976 and again in 1978.

The 1976 Roamer is 6'6" wide while the 1978 is 6'8" wide.

Original list for the 1976 was $3295 with used wholesale at $340 and used retail at $480.

Original list for the 1978 was $3505 with used wholesale at $420 and used retail at $580.

I had forgotten about the solid sided Apache. I liked the looks of them back then, but went from a canvas pop-up camper to a 20 foot class A motorhome. Had the motorhome for 5 years and put on about 35,000 miles. Sure enjoyed it, but the ole farming operation got so large that we were using it very little, so we traded it on a van. Darn I regret that decision. Oh well it is water under the bridge. The only camping I've done since has been with motorcycle, cargo trailer, and tent equipment. Still lots of fun.

Hope you will really enjoy the trailer if you don't sell it.

Thanks notforprint Mine is a rust brown and white, It has a bed on both ends and the table drops to make a bed. It's about 6' 8' across the lower frame. It's got a sink, 3 burner gas stove and counter on one side and cabinets with storage bin on the other. I'd guess it to be about 20' long when set-up. Does this help in determining the year?

I've already been offered double what I paid for it. My wife says if I sell it I better have another one ready to put in it's place. :o)

We set it up and camped out in it last night. Kinda nippy at 38 degrees but with 2 sleeping bags each we had a pretty good time.
