FOUNDATION HELP!!!!!

If I pour a slab or footer for a foundation,can I have a water well drilled [rotary]at a later date, within 10 feet,with no danger of cracking.Don in Tn.

If your soil is not disturbed or recompacted adequately and you use rebar there is little chance of cracking a slab that extends below the frost line. Monolithic pour is recommended, thats footer and floor at the same time.

if you have an idea where the well will be,, ,put a coffee can or somthing in that spot, before you pour, ,so you wont have to drill through it and chance cracking. It will also make the patch look neater, and a heck of alot less work

Don, You shouldn't have a problem: a) provided the compaction of the base materiels is done correctly; b) you use fiberglass reinforcement in the pour; c) there's adequate drainage around the foundation. al
