How soon do you rebreed a female pigmy who lost her kid at birth?

Was a huge baby she lost and only head came out,by the time we got her to the vet, baby passed away:( Vet had a hard time getting baby buck out. This was over 2 weeks ago and she is back to her ol nutty self jumping and kicking and having fun with us. Can she get pregnant again right away?

The possibility is there she could, I raise dairy goats so I am not familiar with the breeding cycles of Pygmies. If you are thinking about re breeding her I'd hold off until at last late July, she has had some stress. Just my humble opinion from my own experiences.

I would also, like Bernice, give her body a chance to heal itself. If the uterus isn't given this chance the placenta might not take a good hold. I would also take this time to worm her, vaccinate her and trim her feet, getting her into great shape. Fix the big kid problem by breeding her to a buck who throws smaller kids or to a Nigerian who would possibly throw a longer kid. Watch your feeding program during pregnancy so that you aren't the one causing the big kids. Vicki
