How soon can I breed my goat back after she has her babies?

Kim, She won't come back in season usually until after July. Unless she lost her kids and is not milked. Are kids doing good? Linda

Hi kim,

From my own personal experiences with this I wouldn't push it, I would wait til the fall, about 6-9 months later. It just stresses them too much and if they are dairy you won't get the milk production you need and neither will the next batch of kids. Make sure when you re breed the doe is in peak condition and you flush or feed her well a few weeks before hand.

It depends on the (breed) type of goat. I have a Tennessee fainting goat that comes into heat 4 weeks after she gives birth. She gave birth 2 years ago in the 2nd week of January and again the same year in the 2nd week of july.
