Yahoo Will Be Down

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

The Yahoo! Groups service will be down Friday March 15 9:00 PM PST (GMT-8) as we move our servers to a new facility. We expect the service to be back up the morning of Sunday March 17.

During this time the web site will be unavailable and email will not be delivered. (Some users may experience email non-delivery notices, but all email should be delivered once service has resumed.) Please note: once the service is back up, there will be email delays due to backlog. We expect these delays to last no longer than 1 day.

Please do not re-send email to your group as it will only add to delays.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

They are hooking up their Uninterrupted Power Supplies--and we at General Electric are so happy. Eleven months of 72 hour work weeks --finally completed ! YAHOO ! For $900,000.00 you can purcase one also !

That might explain why they want to charge each of us a monthly fee for each Yahoo List we're on!!

Yeah, and the classified ads used to be the best on the net. Now they're charging 12.95 a month for an ad, and there're aren't many anymore.

Our group is not coming back. In fact they(managers) sent out their good bye to us all in one email. Didn't have any idea they were dropping the group. They say Yahoo does some "not too morally good stuff" that is not the words they used, on Yahoo. I am very disapointed in the group ending, it was a nice homesteading group and I will miss them. Not a billion emails a day just some nice topic of the day, I think runned very nicely. What is Yahoo doing?

YHOO is finally coming to the realization that they can't continue to exist without being in the black. So many great free features of the net have disappeared the last few years. More the reason people should really appreciate a place like Lusenet.

The clubs/groups are a mess with the ads now.
