Pregnant Goat

I have a diary goat that is going to have babies april the 16th. When she lays down, she moans and urine drips from her. Whenever she gets up she quits.

False labor. Isn't it fun for the concerned goatkeeper? ;-)

I know exactly what your dealing with. My doe has done this with both pregnancies for the entire last month of gestation. I called her Groany Goat. The first time her twin kids were quite large and the second time she had triplets. She only moaned when she knew I was in the barn and would quit when I left. guess she just wanted a little sympathy.

Being a goat she is likely to have twins on board (or even triplets!) - just imaging 8-12 little hooves trotting around on your bladder!!

Goats can be such "drama queens". If she is otherwise bright, happy and eating she will I wouldn't be too worried.

i groaned too, getting up and down when i was pregnant-i had 9 and 10 pound babies-if she seems happy and comfortable otherwise, don't worry. most of my girls groan from the third month on. some of them quite loudly. looking for sympathy? probably.
