heating multipul floors w/corn stove

Does anyone know if I install a corn stove in my basement, will it heat my 1st and 2nd floors. My home is 2,000 sq feet. I am afraid it won't provide the heat like my radiant heating coal stove does at the present time.

A friend of ours installed a pellet stove in their basement and piped it through their existing furnace ductwork.

We have a corn stove in the corner of our house, in the livingroom. We cut a hole in the ceiling to the upstairs and put grates up to help the heat rise. The other end of the house gets pretty cold though.

Don't know if this info will help, but good luck!

probably not the second floor if you put the stove in the basement, but you could supplement it with indivdual ceramic heaters in the bedrooms. they are fairly cheap and dont make the electric bill too high maybe 10-15 dollars extra for each one if used only at night for each months bill
