you can go to this website http://www.cathayphoto.com.sg/ and ask for a quotation on the sigma lens, print out the quote n bring it along with you when you are in singapore (just in case). cathay photo is located at peninsula plaza and there are quite a few camera shops around for you to check and compare prices.

Be sure to check all the stores in the Peninsula area. There is a small store opposite Cathay which is a crowded little place, but they seem to have the best prices on sigma lenses.

There are also shops in Adelphi and on the ground floor of Sim Lim Square that are OK.

Beware of the Toutist Trap stores that sell CD players and DVDs,as they are often crooks and you may have trouble getting warrantee claims. Check the websites of b&hphotovideo and adorma in New York for reference prices.

Cathay is the distributor for Sigma and if the price is right, you would do well to get it from them.

Cathay Photo does not carry Sigma lenses or any Sigma products for that matter. Your best bet is that small shop opposite it that was mentioned above. It's called Foto Guide. Across the street at Peninsula Hotel Shopping Center, there is another small shop that deals mainly in used gear called Camera Workshop. Don or Daniel there may be able to get you a good deal on a brand new or used lens.

Recently, Cathay Photos (Peninsula Plaza) has just brought in the Sigma range. A glance on their showcase, seems to have approx. between 20 to 30 lenses.
