A new tractor!! That's great news! I remember when I got a band saw for my birthday, I was sooo happy. Best wishes and happy gardening.

I got my daughter a birthday gift one year that came in a fair sized box. She wanted to know what it was before the day of her birthday. I told her it was a set of dishes.

She wasn't too thrilled about that. It was actually a Delta jigsaw. She was surprised. She liked shop in school so I figured she might like it. She was sorta luke warm.

She did like the chainsaw I got her later for Christmas.

My hats off to any woman who's happy about getting a power tool.

I, too, like tools and other equipment as gifts. Does this mean that I can give my husband an iron or other household applicances? :)

My husband and I were just laughing the other day about how things change when you homestead. For my birthday or christmas I use to want jewelry, clothes, electronics, etc. This year for my birthday I am asking for everyone in the family to go together and buy me a new cow!

A cow?! I love it! Now I know what to ask for for my next birthday!

Some of my gifts over the years have been, a few different power saws, some hand tools, a pontoon boat(for mothers day) a deep freezer, my wood stove (the best one so far) a camper shell for my pickup, and a new computer tower. Ahhh, my man knows how to set the mood!!!

Sounds exciting! Thanks for sharing. We recently got a new Kabota and it is fun to bush hog the fields with it!

A year ago on Feb 13th I was at an auction. I bid on a tractor because it was going quite cheap. Well darn if the other guy didn't quit bidding & I got it. Came home & threw my wife the keys & said, "Happy Valentine's Day!" I explained that that's all I'll be able to afford now!

Well, I survived - my wife is cool that way. :) So now we always kid about 'her' tractor....

I've been telling everyone that if they get me something for my birthday to buy me a apple tree for my orchard. Next year I'm going to tell them to buy me a peach tree. I figured after three or four years I should have a complete orchard.

I get flowers a lot, and so do our mothers. We buy rose bushes instead of roses, and trees, and peonies, and....they last soo much longer, and you can always remember where they came from while you are sitting under the shade, smelling the flowers!
