EWG Farm Payments Listings , Totally Correct?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I know alot may have been posted here about this subject, but just wanted to say this. Having looked over their site I found my name there. Been dipping into the cookiejar, getting some of that goverment welfare! Well---here's the deal and it's likely it's the deal on a few other listings too. Late 90's goverment decided to deduct a certain amount from each milk producers milkcheck---seems like .11 per hundredweight. If you could prove you did not increase production in that yr over last yrs, then they would refund your money. (goverment payment} So I guess all who are awaiting there tax refund check are actually just receiving a "goverment payment" too.

There are also cases where crop loan payments are returned to the government, and these returned funds do not show up either.

The top line is _all_ payments, the second line is 'farm' payments. Not all the money listed has true 'farm' roots.

And so on.
